Tour # 1-City of St. John's - The City of "Legends" The Historic sites you will visit will include but are not limited to: Signal Hill - Most visited site- Where Marconi received the first wireless trans Atlantic message. Quidi Vidi - 17th century fishing village nestled right in the heart of the city. Quidi Vidi Battery - 17th century battery built to prevent St. John's from being attacked by enemy ships. Commissariat House - Provincial Historic site -1821 - used as offices and living quarters for the assistant Commissariat General Government House - 1831- survived the Great Fire of 1892 Roman Catholic Basilica of St. John the Baptist - 1850 Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist - Destroyed by the great fire of 1892 and reconstructed in 1905 The Court House - destroyed by the great fire-used to be a public gallows We will also stop at a local restaurant for lunch where you can try some traditional Newfoundland meals if you like. We will be glad to pick you up and drop you off at your Hotel/Motel, B&B, or place you are staying in or around St. John's . This Tour leaves St. John's between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. Time will be confirmed at time of booking. The cost of this tour is $110.00 per person plus tax (canadian). Admission fees and lunch is not included and will be at your own expense.
Tour # 2 - Land and Sea- 2 options Option #1- Includes Cape Spear and Boat Tour-Visit Cape Spear National Park ( second most visited site) and smell the ocean air at the most easterly point of land in the western world. Where the sun rises first. Visit the oldest surviving lighthouse and see how the lighthouse keepers surrvived during the 1800's. Whales and icebergs may be seen at this location in season. A short excursion then brings us to the fishing village of Petty Harbour where you can feel the fishing industry that you hear so much about and hear the local dialects. We will then bring you to part of the beautiful scenic Irish Loop well known for its Irish heritage. Arriving in the town of Bay Bulls we will join O'Briens Boat tour for a two hour excusion to see whales and puffins at the Wittless Bay Ecological reserve. Home of the Atlantic Puffin. The cost of this tour is $160.00* (Canadian) plus tax per person. Cost includes boat tour however admission to the Colony of Avalon (approximately $6-$8) and the cost of your meal is your responsibility. Time will be allowed for stops for picture taking along the route. Option #2- Includes Ferryland and Boat Tour Come with us and enjoy the best of both worlds. On this tour we will bring you to the beautiful scenic Irish Loop well known for its Irish heritage. Leaving St. John's we will first visit the town of Bay Bulls and join O'Briens Boat tour for a two hour excusion to see whales and puffins at the Wittless Bay Ecological reserve. After an enjoyable boat tour we will continue along the Irish Loop to the town of Ferryland. We will have lunch at a local restaurant and enjoy the Irish heritage that is still present today. After lunch we will experience a 16ooth colony that is being uncovered right before your eyes at The Colony of Avalon. At the end of the tour at the Colony of Avalon we will depart for a scenic drive back to St John's. The cost of this tour is $160.00* (Canadian) plus tax per person. Cost includes boat tour however admission to the Colony of Avalon (approximately $6-$8) and the cost of your meal is your responsibility. Time will be allowed for stops for picture taking along the route.
Tour # 3- Killick Coast - Admirals' Coast The cost of this tour is $110.00* plus tax (Canadian) per person and includes the admission for the boat tour. Other amounts such as entrance fees and lunch will be at your expense. *Our prices do not include a gratuity. If you feel that your tour guide has done a good job please feel free to offer them a tip of your choice.
